APMEX gold spot prices
 

Has anyone notice APMEX has been quietly raising the spot prices on gold?
Just in the past day the price has gone up. I could remember a few weeks ago it being just $41 over spot.

Depends on what you get really. Stuff like the 2010 Vancouver Maple Leaf is only 37.95 over spot. And they are 999.9 fine.

They have some really cheap Maple Leafs, they're "scruffy", but 1oz is 1oz.

I went by a coin shop over the weekend, and they wanted $20 a ounce for any bullion.
I inquired about a 10 oz. silver bar, he said $200.00 bucks. I said no thank you and quietly left. At the time it was a $2.50 above spot per oz.

problem being APMEX had their 10oz bars for .69 over spot all weekend, $2.50over is NUTZZZ...

2.50 over spot would not be unheard of for SAE's right now... Im not so sure about bars - may be a little high.

to be fair, they're raising the buy prices as well. It's currently $25 over spot.

Mmmmm... you may be talking about Au? Or did you mean 25 cents over spot? (I haven't looked)

off the top of my head, I think apmex normally pays $.50 behind spot for generic, and consider anything other than engelhards or jms generic. Not sure if they pay more for IRA acceptable bars.
